Abbott's Vision: On A 'Paid To Know' Basis

08 March 2012

This morning, Tony Abbott delivered a speech to the Higgins 200 Club in Melbourne where he outlined his economic vision for our nation.
But this speech has not yet been publicly released; only those that paid to attend were privy to this information.
Its clear Mr Abbott isnt comfortable with telling the Australian public how hed manage the economy.
We know what some of an Abbott future will look like:
  • Higher taxes and lower pensions for working Australians
  • Tax cuts to wealthy miners
  • A tax on Australian business to fund their paid parental leave plan
  • $70 billion in cuts to services equivalent to four years of Medicare funding
Despite this, Mr Abbott continues to make promises he cant afford.
Its no wonder he wants to keep his economic vision a secret.
Its time for the Opposition to be upfront with the Australian people and deliver more than slogans.
