Joe Hockey Reveals Extent of the Opposition's Budget Black Hole

12 August 2011

After weeks of recklessly talking down Australias economy, Mr Hockey has now revealed yet another huge hole in the Oppositions budget figures.
Figures reported by the Seven Network show the Opposition would be billions of dollars in deficit with a $27 billion climate change bill, in addition to $37 billion for election commitments and $7 to $8 billion for tax cuts.
This is in addition to the $10.6 billion black hole from the last election that Joe Hockey has still failed to explain.
This just shows that Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey have dug themselves an enormous budget black hole. A hole that gets bigger and bigger by the day as the Opposition continues to make unfunded promises and block Government savings measures.
And it highlights what a risk the Opposition would be to the economy at this time.
Recent events in the global economy have highlighted the strength of our economy, the last thing we need is Mr Hockey talking the economy down and blowing an enormous hole in the budget.
