Labor offers its condolences to Indonesian President Widodo and the families of the 53 crew members onboard the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine.

We offer our deepest sympathies to all Indonesians and acknowledge the sacrifice military personnel make throughout their service.

The days ahead will be immensely difficult as families come to terms with the devastating news that the wreckage of the missing submarine has been discovered in the Bali Strait.

Labor supported and was proud of Australia’s involvement in the international search efforts for the submarine and its crew, and we stand in solidarity with Indonesia during this time of immense loss.
