Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Senator Penny Wong, today announced the appointment of Ms Elizabeth Alexander AM as Chair of the Medibank Private Limited Board.
Ms Alexander has extensive experience on a number of corporate boards and government committees, Senator Wong said.
Her expertise will be of great benefit as Medibank continues its transformation from a private health insurer to an integrated health solutions provider.
Ms Alexander is currently Chair of DEXUS Wholesale Property Limited and Director of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and the IOOF Foundation. She is Chancellor of the University of Melbourne and chairs their Finance Committee.
Ms Alexander is also the former Chairman of CSL Limited, Chair of the Australia Prudential Regulatory Authoritys Risk and Audit Committee, and the Portfolio Audit Committee of the Victoria Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Ms Alexander has been a Non-Executive Director on the Medibank Private Board since October 2008 and is currently Chair of companys Human Resources Committee.
Ms Alexanders three-year appointment as Chair will commence on 19 March 2013.
Senator Wong thanked MrPaulMcClintock AO for his commitment to the Board since 2007, as a director and Chair.
The Board has benefited greatly from Mr McClintocks leadership and I thank him for his impressive contribution during his tenure, Senator Wong said.
