The Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Senator Penny Wong, and the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, today congratulated Dr Kerry Schott on her appointment to the board of NBN Co Limited.
Dr Schott has extensive experience in infrastructure delivery and in finance, both in the public and private sectors, and will be a valuable addition to the NBN Co Board, Senator Wong said.
Dr Schott is the former CEO and Managing Director of Sydney Water and has spent 15 years in investment banking, including as a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank responsible for infrastructure work in Australia and Asia, and as Executive Vice President of Bankers Trust Australia.
Dr Schott also has significant experience in the public sector, including as CEO of the NSW Commission of Audit.
She is also a member of the Infrastructure Partnerships Australia Board, Whitlam Institute and the New South Wales Treasury Corporation (TCorp).
Dr Schotts appointment is effective immediately.
I look forward to Dr Schotts contribution to the NBN Co Board as the NBN rollout ramps up around Australia, Senator Conroy said.
NBN Co is on track to meet its target of having work commenced or completed for 758,000 homes and businesses across Australia by the end of the year.
