Opposition Needs To "Show Australians The Money"

13 March 2012

Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey says the Opposition has finalised its policies and costings, including its plan to cut $70 billion in services, but refuses to tell Australians what they are.
JOURNALIST: Mr Hockey, as recently as last Tuesday, Tony Abbott said that Australia needs an election and he called on Julia Gillard to have one as soon as possible. Does that mean that your policies that you would take to this election, which could be held within 33 days, are done, are costed and ready to roll out?
HOCKEY: Yes.
...
HOCKEY: Based on what we know now, we are doing all the costings. All our policies are costed.
JOURNALIST:So you have found those savings you were looking for?
HOCKEY: Yes, we have found the savings that we were looking for.

[PRESS CONFERENCE 13 MARCH 2012]

If the Opposition really have finalised their costings, then they need to come clean with the Australian people.
They cant just think theyll coast into government on slogans and negativity.
Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey need to reveal what they plan to cut, how much their policies cost and where they plan to get the money to fund their undeliverable promises.
Todays comments by Mr Hockey also contradict the shadow finance spokesman, Andrew Robb, who said less than ten days ago that the Opposition havent finalised any of our major policies.
If the Opposition cant even agree between their Treasury and Finance spokespersons whether their policies are ready to go, you have to question if they have an economic plan for the future.
