Labor expects justice for the women who were assaulted at Qatar airport.

We note that the perpetrators have been referred to prosecutors and welcome the Qatari Prime Minister’s apology.

We hope these developments provide some measure of healing for the women who were assaulted.

Labor calls on the Foreign Minister to ensure the women are supported and that this is resolved to their satisfaction.

This type of treatment can never happen again. The Qatari and Australian governments must work to guarantee the safety of Australian travellers.
